What This Appointment Covers

A screening is a set of measurements taken at one point in time. It records how your heart, lungs and blood vessels are performing on the day, and gives you and a doctor a baseline to work from.

Three tiers exist because people arrive with different questions. The Standard tier is cardiac and vascular imaging only. Care adds abdominal and pelvic ultrasound plus a blood and urine panel. Elite adds thyroid, breast or scrotal ultrasound, two further vascular studies, and hormone and vitamin D testing. In Malay, saringan kesihatan jantung.

What Is In Each Tier

Every tier includes the doctor consultation and the written report. Fasting may be required for the tiers that include bloods; you will be told when you book.

What Each Test Measures

ECG and Echocardiogram

The ECG records the electrical rhythm of the heart. The echocardiogram is an ultrasound that shows the chambers, valves and how the heart moves.

Cardiac Stress Test

Records how the heart responds while you walk on a treadmill, rather than at rest. Supervised throughout.

Vascular Ultrasound

Images blood flow through the carotid arteries and deep veins. Elite adds the peripheral arteries and the abdominal aorta.

Lung Function Test

Measures how much air you can move and how fast, by breathing into a spirometer.

Blood and Urine Panel

Care and Elite tiers. Includes CRP and homocysteine, a tumour marker panel, rheumatoid factor and H. pylori.

Doctor Consultation

A doctor goes through the results with you and decides whether anything needs following up. Included in every tier.

What a Screening Can and Cannot Tell You

A screening is a snapshot, not a diagnosis. It records measurements on the day you attend. A normal result does not rule out a condition, and an abnormal one does not confirm you have anything: it means a doctor will decide what, if anything, to look at next.

Tumour markers in particular are widely misunderstood. They are blood proteins that can be raised for many ordinary reasons, and they are not a cancer test. They are read alongside everything else, by the doctor, in context.

If you have symptoms now, a scheduled screening is the wrong route. See a doctor, or go to an emergency department if the symptoms are chest pain, breathlessness, or anything sudden.

Screening takes place at P-01-01, Pusat Perdagangan Bandar, Persiaran Jalil 3, Bukit Jalil, 57000 Kuala Lumpur. After purchase you receive a booking confirmation by email. Bring the confirmation with you.

Cardiac Screening Questions

Which tier should I choose?

Standard is cardiac and vascular imaging only, and takes about 1.5 hours. Care adds abdominal and pelvic ultrasound plus the blood and urine panel, and takes 2 hours or more. Elite adds thyroid and breast or scrotal ultrasound, two further vascular studies, and hormone and vitamin D testing, over 3 hours or more. If you are not sure, message us before booking and we will talk it through.

How long does the appointment take and do I need to fast?

Standard takes about 1.5 hours, Care 2 hours or more, Elite 3 hours or more. Fasting may be required for the tiers that include blood tests. The exact instructions come with your booking confirmation.

When do I get my results, and who explains them?

Every tier includes a consultation in which a doctor goes through the results with you. You also receive a written report, digital or printed, which you can take to your own GP or specialist.

Does a normal result mean nothing is wrong?

No. A screening records measurements on one day. A normal result does not rule out a condition, and an abnormal one does not confirm one. It is a baseline, and the doctor decides whether anything needs following up. If you have symptoms now, see a doctor rather than waiting for a scheduled screening.

Apakah yang termasuk dalam saringan kesihatan jantung ini?

Setiap pakej termasuk ECG, ekokardiogram, ujian tekanan jantung, ujian fungsi paru-paru dan ultrasound saluran darah, serta sesi perbincangan dengan doktor dan laporan bertulis. Pakej Care dan Elite menambah ujian darah dan air kencing. Temu janji mengambil masa 1.5 hingga 3 jam bergantung pada pakej. Saringan ini bukan diagnosis; doktor akan menentukan langkah seterusnya jika perlu.

Where does it take place, and is it available outside KL?

The screening is carried out at Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. Message us on WhatsApp to ask about availability in Penang, Sabah or Sarawak before you book, since the tiers and schedule can differ by location.
