8 to 12 hours. Plain water throughout, and keep drinking it.
Results
5 to 7 working days from the draw.
Doctor
An e-consultation is included in every tier, after the report is ready.
Samples
One blood draw and one urine sample cover every test in your tier.
Where
35 collection centres, every Malaysian state plus KL and Labuan.
Laboratory
CAP-accredited, operating to MS ISO 15189.
Not for you

If you are hoping to rule cancer out, this cannot do that. Markers can be raised for benign reasons and normal in the presence of disease, so they are a baseline reading rather than a cancer test.

If a symptom is worrying you right now, see a doctor. A report in 5 to 7 working days is the wrong instrument for something happening today.

If you want the female marker set, CA 125 and CA 15-3, book Cancer Screening for Women instead. This page is the male panel.

How It Works

Your town and which tier you want, or ask us to help you choose.
2
We confirm the centre
Your closest of 35, its hours, and a slot that fits the fast.
3
One draw
Blood and urine cover every test in your tier. Under 15 minutes.
4
A doctor explains it
Report in 5 to 7 working days, then your e-consultation.
Source And Standards

Collected at 35 partner centres nationwide and processed in one CAP-accredited laboratory operating to MS ISO 15189. Every report is read by a doctor registered with the Malaysian Medical Council before your e-consultation. Marker assays are not directly comparable between laboratories, so repeat the panel with us if you want the numbers to mean something next to each other.

Background Science

Major oncology guidelines position cancer markers as validated for monitoring known disease and for risk assessment in defined high-risk groups, rather than as a general screen in people at average risk. PSA is the most studied example, and the two landmark randomised trials disagree. The PLCO trial reported no difference in prostate cancer mortality between annual screening and usual care (Andriole GL, et al. N Engl J Med. 2009;360(13):1310 to 1319. doi.org/10.1056/NEJMoa0810696), while ERSPC reported a reduction in the screened group (Schroder FH, et al. N Engl J Med. 2009;360(13):1320 to 1328. doi.org/10.1056/NEJMoa0810084). That disagreement is why the United States Preventive Services Task Force frames PSA as a shared decision-making conversation rather than a routine test (US Preventive Services Task Force. JAMA. 2018;319(18):1901. doi.org/10.1001/jama.2018.3710). It is also why this panel pairs markers with a general health screening rather than selling PSA alone.

Not sure this is the right test?

This is a package people often book for the wrong reason. Tell our care team what prompted you to look, and they will tell you whether this fits, whether a plain health screening is the better spend, or whether what you actually need is a doctor rather than a blood test.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in a cancer screening in Malaysia for men?
A general health screening and the men’s cancer markers in one blood draw. Every tier includes AFP, CEA, CA 19-9 and PSA. Cancer Essential adds those to the eight-test core at RM206. Cancer Plus adds thyroid, blood group and hepatitis B. Cancer Advanced adds hepatitis A and HIV. Cancer Signature adds high-sensitivity troponin T and Lipoprotein(a). A doctor e-consultation is included in all four.
How much does a cancer screening for men cost in Malaysia?
Cancer Essential RM206, Cancer Plus RM246, Cancer Advanced RM286 and Cancer Signature RM368. Per person, e-consultation included, no additional fee at the collection centre. The panel for the other sex is priced separately because the marker set differs.
Can this test tell me whether I have cancer?
No. Cancer markers can be raised for benign reasons and can read completely normal in the presence of disease, so a result is a baseline reading interpreted in clinical context, never a cancer test. It does not replace a colonoscopy, a low-dose CT, an ultrasound or a biopsy. If a symptom worries you, see a doctor rather than booking a screening.
Which tier should I choose?
Cancer Essential if you want the markers with a basic organ and metabolic check. Cancer Plus if you also want thyroid and blood group. Cancer Advanced if you want hepatitis A and HIV settled in the same draw, which is the tier most people pick. Cancer Signature if a parent or sibling had a heart attack or stroke before 60, because it is the only tier carrying Lipoprotein(a).
Why is there a separate panel for men?
Because the marker set differs. Men carry PSA. Women carry CA 125 and CA 15-3. Everything else on the two panels is identical, and the price difference is exactly the cost of that one extra marker on the female side. Splitting them means you only ever see the tests that apply to you.
Do I need to fast before a cancer screening?
Yes, 8 to 12 hours. Plain water is fine throughout. The fast is for the metabolic half of the panel, fasting blood sugar and lipid studies, rather than for the markers themselves. Most people book a morning slot so the fast happens overnight.
How long do cancer screening results take?
5 to 7 working days from the draw for the full report. Your e-consultation is scheduled once the report is ready, so you are never left reading a marker number alone. If any result needs urgent attention we contact you rather than waiting for the scheduled call.
Where can I get a cancer screening done?
At any of 35 collection centres across all 13 Malaysian states plus Kuala Lumpur and Labuan, including Petaling Jaya, Klang, Cheras, Johor Bahru, George Town, Ipoh, Kuantan, Seremban, Melaka, Kota Bharu, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching. The panel, the price and the fast are identical everywhere.

Cancer markers can be raised for benign reasons and normal in the presence of disease, and are interpreted only in clinical context. This package is not a test for cancer: it does not detect, confirm or exclude cancer, and a normal result does not rule out all disease. It does not replace a colonoscopy, a low-dose CT, an ultrasound or a biopsy, and it does not image an organ or biopsy anything. PSA is a blood marker, not a prostate examination, and it should follow a shared decision-making conversation with a doctor. About one person in ten does not produce CA 19-9 for genetic reasons. A licensed doctor reviews every report and will advise whether further investigation is needed. Screening is not a substitute for clinical assessment of an active symptom: if you are currently unwell, please see a doctor rather than waiting 5 to 7 working days for a result. Reference ranges and individual results vary, and marker assays are not directly comparable between laboratories. All samples are processed by a CAP-accredited laboratory operating to MS ISO 15189 in Malaysia. Please disclose all medication and supplements, existing medical conditions and recent illness before your appointment.
