The Indian Heritage Centre, managed by the National Heritage Board and supported by the Indian community, chronicles the history of Indian and South Asian communities in Southeast Asia. This iconic, four-storey building at 5 Campbell Lane combines traditional Indian and modern architectural elements, inspired by the Indian stepwell. It features five permanent galleries, a museum shop, and activity spaces, with a shimmering façade symbolizing a “shining jewel” by day and a “glowing lantern” at night. Opened by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on 7 May 2015, the Centre offers year-round exhibitions and programs to promote Indian heritage. Visitors should observe museum etiquette, including no food or drink and maintaining quiet in the galleries.
